Research Facts
The Rideau Regional Centre was a residence for the mentally handicapped located in Smiths Falls, Ontario, The centre opened in 1951, and at the time of its closure in 2009, it housed approximately 400 patients. Rubbing alcohol was used as a disinfectant.
