Research Facts
G. C Hanford Manufacturing Company Limited began in the 1840s, after Seth Hanford, the father of George C. Hanford, obtained the formula for an anti-bacterial liniment. G. C. Hanford founded the company in 1846, which sold "Hanford's Balsam of Myrrh." The company expanded in 1905, and diversified further in the 1920s, which helped the company survive the Great Depression, during which time they manufactured medical test kits for the American government. They became known for products for mastitis.
