A Brown-Buerger cystoscope consisting of a custom-made walnut case, hinged along one side, an examining telescope, a convex sheath with curved beak, a double catheterizing telescope with two catheter heads (no rubber nipples), an obdurator with a tapered conical head; an interior case with sliding black metal lid located at top left corner contains a small silver metal jar of yellow grease, an oval-shaped catheter clip, a silver-coloured metal connecting nipple, four black rubber nipples and four ochre-coloured rubber nipples (two sizes).

(a) slight/moderate scratching of top surface; deepest scratch is 1 cm located 3 cm from front edge and 14.5 cm from left side; bottom surface veneer is flaking off along front edge; lock has rust spots over 20% of surface; interior: shiny patches on bottom surface -- hardened clear substance (6 spots); (b) one-third of back surface has changed colour to a light grey; (c) green residue on lock pins; (d) lamp padding in beak has reddish discolouration; rust spots on interior surface at mouth of lock lever; green residue on exterior at base of lock lever; (f) green residue on lock pins; corrosion on telescope 8.5 cm from tip; corrosion is 1.6 cm long; (g) green residue at base of lock lever; green residue also evident in interior of lock lever at the mouth; pinkish discolouration of padding around light bulb
