Adult intubation model in case, which consists of (a) a life-sized plastic model of the head, neck and upper chest of a man; the chest is cut away to show the stomach and lungs as well as the tracheal and bronchial tubes; the model is attached to a flat metal base; there are electrical wires leading from the model to the base and a red light on the base; the bottom of the model has a battery chamber; the model fits into (b) a plastic suitcase, that is rectangular in shape and has a lid which is hinged onto the bottom by a hinge at the back; the front of the suitcase has a plastic handle and two metal clasps; the inside bottom of the case has a nylon strap that holds the model in place.

Reasonable care, therefore, // [sh]ould be taken in not tearing the tongue and // [e]piglottis. Before each training session, spray // mouth and throat area with silicone spray // ASMUND S. LAERDAL // STAVANGER - NORWAY"; missing areas of label in brackets; another half label reads, "-- unscrewing the screw in // -- of the mounting board" in four languages: English, French, Norwegian (?) and German (?); (b) labels on the suitcase read, "ADULT INTUBATION MODEL // 1943 // Made in Norway"; "LAERDAL // ASMUND S. (a) The model appears to be complete and shows little damage; the left nostril on the model's nose is stretched out of shape and the battery compartment at the bottom shows staining from corroded batteries; the lungs will hold air; (b) the suitcase is complete and undamaged; the outside shows minor wear and the front clasps open and close easily; #2 no new damage
