The film (a) consists of a long, rolled strip of plastic film with black and white images that show the rôle of leucocytes (white blood cells); the film is rolled around (b) a metal film reel; the reel consists of two flat pieces of metal joined with a cylindrical spool at the centre; both flat pieces of the reel have large, rounded holes cut out from the sides to make the film around the spool very visible; the film and reel are stored in a metal canister (c); the canister is round with a flat bottom, short sides and an open top; there are two paper labels attached to the outside bottom; the canister has a fitted lid (d); the lid is round with a flat top, very short sides and an open bottom; the top has raised lettering stamped into it.
