Electric illuminator set, which consists of several parts housed in a box; the set contains (a) a laryngeal mirror with light; this consists of a long hollow cylindrical tube with a small, round light bulb at the tip and a flat round piece of hard rubber with two small holes drilled through it, covering the other end; a laryngeal mirror is attached to the side of the light; the laryngeal mirror consists of a small, round mirror attached to a handle made of solid cylindrical metal; the mirror is at a 90° angle to the handle and light; the set also contains a tongue depressor with light (b); the tongue depressor consists of a flat piece of metal that flares outwards slightly to a tip that is rounded and curved slightly downwards; the other end of the tongue depressor is straight and has two short lengths of hollow cylindrical tubing attached to the bottom; these provide slots for the attachment of a handle (c); the top of the tongue depressor has an attached light source; this consists of a hollow, cylindrical tube with a small, round light bulb at the tip and a flat round piece of hard rubber with two holes drilled through it, covering the other end; the handle for the tongue depressor consists of a single piece of heavy solid cylindrical wire bent to form an elongated loop with a closed rounded end and an open top; the tips at the top are bent at a 90° angle to the handle and fit into the hollow cylindrical pieces on the tongue depressor; the set also contains an ear speculum (d) with three tips (e-g); the base (d) consists of hollow cylindrical metal formed into a T-shape; the bottom of the "T" has a flat, round piece of hard rubber with two holes drilled through it, covering the open end; the cross of the T-shape has an eyepiece/viewing end set into one end; the eyepiece is made of metal and glass and has a small, round opening in the centre; the inside centre of the ear speculum has a light bulb; the other end of the T-shape crosspiece is open to allow the attachment of ear speculum tips (e-g); all of the tips are made of hollow cylindrical metal with round, open bases; the tips taper, funnel-like, to small open tips; the tips increase in length from e to f and the tip hole slightly decreases; the set also contains an auxiliary light source (h); this consists of a hollow cylindrical metal tip with threading on the inner edge of one end (which would have allowed the attachment of a light bulb); the other end is covered with a flat, round piece of hard rubber that has two holes drilled through it; the tip is attached to the central section with a pivot; the central section consists of three flat pieces of metal joined together with pivots; this arrangement allows the tip to be manipulated into many positions; the bottom of the central section is attached to a small C-clamp, with a ball attachment; this also allows the attachment to be positioned; the C-clamp has a screw to tighten it onto a support; all pieces of the set are stored in a wooden box (i); the box is rectangular in shape with a closed bottom and four sides and an open top; the upper inside edge of the back, front and left sides have a groove cut into them that holds a lid (j); the lid is made of a flat piece of rectangular-shaped wood; the top, bottom, and left edges are narrower to allow the lid to slide in from the right side into the inner slots in the box.
