Barnhill's adenoid curette, which consists of an instrument made from a single piece of metal; the handle is long, hollow inside, and cylindrical with eight flat sides and a rounded end; the top of the handle tapers to join with a solid cylindrical shaft; the shaft tapers in, then flares out at the tip; the tip splits and curves out to the right and left sides, then straight again; originally the outer edge would have been straight, creating a square fenestration, but the outer edge is now broken off.
