A stiff, heavy, off-white paper is used as a surface on which to mount an acupuncture drawing; the paper has been pasted onto wooden dowels that run the width at each end of the chart; a string has been strung through two small, holes in the dowels at the top of the chart; the drawing appears to have been drawn by hand with watercolours; there are Chinese characters on the chart.

There is a tear in the right lower-middle side of the chart there is also a thin, narrow portion running across the figure's med-section and both arms that has been erased or blotted out.
