Dr. Reid's Pocket Ophthalmometer is a miniature keratometer made by Kelvin & James White, Ltd. and is just 10 cm long. Made of black metal and brass with a small ivory scale and milled edge wheel to adjust the pointer mechanism.
Ophthalmometer definition, an instrument for measuring the reflection of an image on the surface of the cornea and other capacities of the eye, used chiefly for determining the presence and degree of astigmatism.
Keratometers measure the radius of curvature of the anterior (front) corneal surface of the eye.
