Research Facts
Oil of rosemary is the volatile oil distilled with steam from the fresh flowering tops of Rosmarinus officinalis Linné (Fam. Labiatae); colourless or pale yellow liquid having the characteristic odour of rosemary and a warm camphoraceous taste. Used as a carminative (relieves flatulence) and as a stimulant; sometimes also as insect repellent.
