Purchased by Dr. Frank Mellow and used in his home office in Uxbridge, Ontario; the Dr's main practice was on first floor; this was on the second floor where radiotherapy, massage, surgical procedures were performed with it; it was last used therapeutically in 1940 by Dr. Mellow.

Condition Remarks
Fluoroscope was very dusty; the wooden handle which was intended to screw on and off does not stay on; the "fake fur" around the eyepiece is deteriorating and there are "bald" patches; (2) the fake fur and leather appear stable and have suffered no further damage; the paint on the wooden frame is worn and scratched, and the paint in the top proper left corner is completely worn; the fluoroscope was dusty; the glass/plastic screen had approximately seven shallow scratches in its surface, and a smudge of what appears to be adhesive in the top centre area of the screen.

The screen was dirty and dusty; (2) the top surface of the screen had many shallow scratches in it from heavy use; this does not appear to be a result of its exhibit history; the metal frame is also worn from use , and there is a spot of inactive corrosion on the one short side from a fingerprint, 1.2 cm x 1.7 cm; there are smaller dark smudges from handling and use over approximately 10% of the frame; on the reverse side the exposed felt is moderately frayed; there were no signs of active corrosion; the paint on the hinges of the backing plate was worn.
