Anastomosis button, which consists of a bottom and top piece which fit together to form a single item; the bottom piece (a) is round and concave with a central oval hole and four round side holes that go through the metal; the inside of the piece has a short length of hollow cylindrical tubing that attaches to the hole in the middle; the other end is open and round; there are two small pieces sticking out from the side of the tube; the inside button edges have a round attachment that fits up against the sides; the bottom of this attachment is held into the bottom of the button by a spring which allows the attachment to move up and down; the top piece (b) is also round and concave with a round hole in the centre and four round side holes that go through the metal; the inside has a short length of hollow cylindrical tubing with threading on the inside; one end of this tube lines up with the central hole; the other end is round and open; the threading allows the bottom piece to fit inside and join with the top piece
