Description
Abdominal retractor, which consists of a stainless steel instrument with a solid square metal bar onto which are attached two flattened arm pieces that curve outwards; the left arm piece is fixed to the bar, which the right arm piece can slide along the bar; a round screw at the end of the right side of the bar prevents the right arm from sliding off the bar; there is a rounded blade at the end of each arm; the blades are made of very heavy cylindrical metal wire formed into an oval shape that has been bent to face forwards; the ends of the blades are rounded

Research Facts
A. B. S. & C. stands for Aloin, Belladonna, Strychnine and Cascara; despite poisonous ingredients and the designation of poison on the label, these pills were often used to treat habitual constipation.
C. E. Jamieson & Co. Limited was the name of the company from 1944 until it became Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. in 1998.
The D in diamond symbol embossed on the bottom indicates the bottle itself was made by Canadian glass manufacturer Dominion Glass Company in Hamilton, Ontario.
