A peritoneal dialysis machine consisting of a stand (a) made out of wood; the stand has four wheels beneath it; at the rectangular bottom is a flat platform taking up roughly half of the bottom; on the other half is a wooden box with a door that opens on the front to reveal an empty compartment; a pole extends up from the back of the box; at the top of the pole is an eight pronged hanger for holding tubes and bags; sitting on top of the box is the cycler unit (b) which is a rectangular metal box, slanted on the front; the front has dials and buttons on it; there are also attachments on the side for wrapping the power cord, and attaching tubes; there is a translucent nylon cover (c) for the cycler; there is also a thin metal box (d) which hangs from a hook on the pole which opens.

Description
Cellulose acetate hollow fiber dialyzer for hemodialysis, which consists of a cylindrical clear plastic hollow tube with round screw-on caps at both ends; the caps (blue at the top and red at the bottom) have been glued in place and both have short cylindrical pieces on top with caps that pull off to allow access to a small round opening into the tube; the tube is filled with thousands of white fibers that run the length of the tube; the outside front of the tube has a paper label stuck to it which has printed manufacturing information on it; the back, top and bottom of the tube has attached small hollow cylindrical pieces of tubing coming out from the tube; these pieces are open at the unattached ends.

Cobe Century 2 dialysis control unit, hemodialysis machine (a), which consists of a large rectangular-shaped machine set onto a flat rectangular-shaped base that has a round wheel at the bottom of each corner; the top of the machine is a flat metal surface; the front of the machine has a rounded plexiglass-covered blood pump that has (b) a removable handle; the handle is made of a piece of metal bent into a 90 deg angle, with a hexagonal piece that fits into the centre of the blood pump on one end and a plastic-covered piece that sticks outwards to serve as a gripping piece at the other end; the front of the hemodialysis machine also has 7 square push-type on/off switches; a small thermometer; two rectangular dials; 8 round knobs; one on/off flip switch; 5 hose clips; 12 alarm buttons and a heparine holder; the right side of the machine is flat and closed; the back of the machine has a small metal bracket sticking out near the top, as well as a round counter and knob; there is a small push-in knob at the centre and two electrical cords and two hoses attached at the bottom; there are also four manufacturer's labels; the left side of the machine has three attached tubes and two plastic tube inlet pieces; the top of this side has an attached metal bracket that holds a cylindrical metal pole with two pieces sticking out at the top; a white plastic attachment is at the base of the metal pole; a Double Pump Module (c) sits on top of the hemodialysis machine; this module is rectangular in shape, with a sloped front; the bottom has a cylindrical rubber foot on each corner; the top is flat; the front of the module has a rounded plexiglass-covered blood pump at the left; two round knobs in the centre; a dial, switch, three push-in buttons and an on/off switch at the right side; the right side of the module is flat and closed; the back of the module has two round fuses and two electrical cords coming out of it, as well as an electrical inlet piece; there are also 6 manufacturing labels attached to the back; the left side of the module is flat and closed.

The machine, pump and handle arrived quite dirty and dusty; two of the plastic parts have cracks (the cover on the blood pump module pump cover, and a plug on the machine), but the rest of the parts are complete and undamaged; the metal parts show no corrosion; #2: rubber requires special treatment

Curled peritoneal dialysis catheter, which consists of a length of hollow clear silastic tubing with open ends; the tubing has been folded in half, with one end straight and the other end curled; the curled end of the tube has several small holes perforated through the tube; there are two small pieces of felt wrapped around the outside of the tube on either side of the fold; the fold leaves the tube in a semi-circle and does not pinch it closed.
