Description
The main adenotome (a) is a long, solid metal instrument consisting of a wide, multisided handle that tapers to a long, thin cylindrical stem with one flat side; the stem tapers towards the top and then flares to an attached square-shaped fenestrated blade which curves back over the flattened stem front; there is a small, oval-shaped pin in a small catch hole located on the stem front; the pivot arm (b) attaches to this pin through a small, raised hole and hooks into the catch when locked; the pivot arm is a much shorter flat piece of metal, rounded on the bottom and hinged at the top; attached to the hinge is another square-shaped, curved fenestrated blade that has two sharp barns protruding from its inner edge; when locked, the two blades become flush
