(a) the glass shows no chips, cracks or excessive wear; there is some very minor brown staining on the inside of the bottle; (b) the lid is missing most of its original paint layer; there are two very small corrosion spots on the top of the lid

Merrill's System Tonic Tablets was advertised as a cure for ailments of the blood, stomach, and kidneys such as dyspepsia, rheumatism, general worn and run down feeling. Plus boils, pimples, hives skin diseases and constipation. Sold at Merrill's Corner Drug Store. Donor found bottle somewhere in Dundas, Ontario in woods near former Davis Tannery on Montreal Street in 1976 while a student doing site surveys.
