(a) the glass shows no chips, cracks or excessive wear; there is some very minor brown staining on the inside of the bottle; (b) the lid is missing most of its original paint layer; there are two very small corrosion spots on the top of the lid

Description
Hand-held drug preparation scale with weights, in a case; (a) the case is made of two pieces of
wood; the bottom has hollowed-out sections, lined with paper, which were made to hold the scale
and weights; the top is hinged on at the back with brass hinges and has other hinges at the front
to hold the case closed; (b) hand-held scale which consists of a horizontal metal bar that is held
up by a vertical piece of hinged metal in the centre; at each end of the bar, there is a round,
flat brass pan (slightly turned up at the edges) attached with three pieces of string through holes
in the brass; the string attachments form a triangle at the bottom and come together at the top to
attach onto the rod; (c-d) flat square brass weights made to be used with the balance scale; (e-f)
flat round brass weights made to be used with the balance scale

Condition Remarks
(a) Wood has minor wear marks; there are no cracks or missing sections; the tip of the left hinge
at the front is broken; (b) the rod shows minor corrosion on the metal; the brass pans are tarnished;
the strings are dirty; (c-d) the small square weights show tarnish and very minor corrosion;
(e-g) the round brass weights are tarnished, but have no visible corrosion
