Square cardboard box with removable lid containing 25 sealed semi-transparent brown glass Bilevac Gall Bladder Stimulant for Cholecystography bottles (d-ab); removable green cardboard lid (b), removable two piece brown cardboard grid divider (c), cardboard base houses the cardboard divider and 25 bottles; exterior of base has layer of smooth coated white paper; lid is removable, and exterior has layer of textured green paper; lid has rectangular green and cream paper label with product information on front; divider consists of strips of brown cardboard arranged to form a 5x5 grid in base of box; bottles are full with liquid, have circular base, cylindrical side walls, round shoulders, round neck ring, and cylindrical finish with external continuous thread; bottles have non-removable white metal screw cap with flat top, vertical indents in sides, rounded bottom edge, and internal thread; caps are covered with plastic wrapper only on sides; bottles have mold lines on sides from base to top and around neck and base; bottles have rectangular green and white paper labels with product information and directions wrapped around sides; manufacturing information embossed on bottom of bottles.

Base of box has small amount of adhesive tape and residue stuck to sides and bottom; base has large brown tide marks on sides and bottom; box lid has minor distortion, fading all over, minor abrasion to all sides and edges, adhesive tape and residue on sides, and small tears in front, but is stable; grid insert has large areas of dye transfer on surfaces from contact with bottle labels, also leaving white areas on bottle labels; several plastic wrappers on bottle caps have minor cracks, areas of loss, and distortions but are stable

Research Facts
Bilvac is a cholagogue, which is used to stimulate gallbladder to release or increase flow of bile; it was commonly used before a cholecystography procedure, which is an x-ray examination of the gallbladder using a contrast agent to aid in imaging; the gall bladder is a small organ that stores and release bile produced by the liver to aid digestion.
Oral cholecystography is a radiological procedure used to visualize the gallbladder and biliary channels, developed in 1924 by American surgeons Evarts Ambrose Graham and Warren Henry Cole.
The “W” in a circle logo on the bottom of each bottle indicates the bottles were manufactured by T. C. Wheaton Co., who used the logo from 1946 – 2005.
