Research Facts
Garlic has been used for centuries for all sorts of cold and flu symptoms, as a natural antibiotic. Not only will garlic help boost your immunities, it is a drying herb and an expectorant, making it great for wet coughs that are producing a lot of phlegm.
Taking garlic pearls -- either as garlic cloves or supplements -- offers several potential health benefits. Garlic pearls may be odorless. A garlic pearl refers to a single clove of garlic, but in supplements, a pearl usually means a round or elongated, gelatin-covered capsule.

Research Facts
James Cook Ayer was a medical doctor who created a popular line of proprietary medicines; Ayer’s first product, his Cherry Pectoral, was first marketed in 1841 as a cure for various conditions, including coughs, influenza, and consumption; it originally contained opiates, but these were eventually removed from the formula; the packaging of this bottle focuses on the application of the remedy for bronchial conditions and coughs.
The Ayer Company was acquired by Sterling Products in 1938.
Owens-Illinois Glass Company merged in 1929 and used the famous “diamond, O and I" logo until around 1954.

The ingredients of Sir John Hill's Pectoral Balsam of Honey were balsam of tolu (a plant resin), opium, honey and spirit of wine. Hill, who had a genuine medical degree, started producing patent remedies around the 1760s when the expense of publishing his writing began to take its toll, and the ploy worked, earning him a considerable fortune. Research Facts
The H. K. Mulford Company was a pharmaceutical company founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company was founded in the late 1880s by Henry K. Mulford after his purchase of the Old Simes drugstore at 18th and Market Streets. The company was purchased by Sharp & Dohme Corp in 1929.
Henry Kendall Mulford (October 10, 1866 – October 15, 1937) was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.
Soon after purchasing the Old Simes retail pharmacy store, Mulford began producing and selling pharmaceutical preparations. In 1889, he received financial investment to expand operations from Milton Campbell. In 1891, Campbell became president of the company, with Mulford vice president. Milton patented a compressed tablet machine. By 1892 the company had two laboratories, a field office in Chicago, and produced 800 different products.
The company opened a laboratory in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, in 1894 for the production of a diphtheria antitoxin. In 1895, it became the first commercial producer of diphtheria antitoxin in the United States
