The Department of Health of Ontario (as is printed on the label) was previously known as the Provincial Board of Health of Ontario which was created by the Public Health Act of 1882. The Provincial Board of Health name was changed in 1925 while the Department of Health name was changed to the Ministry of Health in 1971 and then again to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in 1999.
