Upper denture (a) completely made of plastic with a complete set of teeth minus third molars; the proper left central incisor (b); the proper right central incisor (c); the proper left canine (d) and the proper right lateral incisor (e) have broken off of the gums and are loose; there are also three cream coloured circular cotton cloths (f-h); the proper left canine (d) has a groove in the back of it; both central incisors have two gold coloured metal posts in them with some gum material attached to them

Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; plastic became a popular material to use for dentures starting in the twentieth century; most modern dentures are made of this material; while not as durable as porcelain dentures, plastic dentures allow for a tighter and more comfortable fit
