Research Facts
Used to treat lung diseases (asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It does so by relaxing muscles in the respiratory tract to open the airway and increasing contraction of diaphragm muscles to facilitate breathing. Taken by intravenous injection, comprised of a 2:1 ratio of theophylline to ethylenediamine.
