On label: "DR. BEACH'S // Vegetable Composition // Prepared by C. S. HARRIS, Manchester, C.W. (Canada West) // A certain remedy for colds, coughs, sore throat, &c. Also, a preventative to the Chill Fever, Ague, and Summer complaints. // DIRECTIONS — For an adult, half a tea-spoonful of the powder, the same of sugar, put into a tea-cup, fill it half-full of boiling water; for a child, half the quantity; stir it well, when settled take as warm as possible three times a day before meals."

Label torn at top and bottom; stained at back; #2: label stained; pl. corner is peeling away slightly; text is faded at edges; pr. corner has small fold; bottle is dusty inside from contents; neck of bottle, interior, glass has cracks; wax in stopper is slightly chipped, bubbled, and cracked and there are some losses.
