Description
Hemacytometer, which consists of (a) a slender glass pipette with a bulb just above centre that contains a small mixing head; the pipette is shaped like a thermometer and tapers to a teardrop-shaped end; the pipette fits onto a rubber tube that curves into a rectangular shape and connects to a small glass mouthpiece with a lip; included in this set is (b) a broken thick glass slide that acts as a counting chamber; the glass slide has three parallel trenches (a fourth trench is missing due to breakage); a small transverse centre trench creates an "H" pattern engraved between trenches; all of the pieces described fit into a purpose-built case (c); this case has built-in purple velvet-covered moulds that hold the instrument parts apart from each other; it is rectangular in shape with a clasp at the front that is missing its counterpart on the lid; a small metal knob is located on the front right side of the case; the outside of the case is leather bound with a thatched pattern covering the entire case except for the cloth-covered bottom.
