Research Facts
Made to commemorate the anniversary of the Kingston General Hospital as being Canada's first Parliament Buildings. In the period before Queen Victoria decided to situate the Canadian capital in Ottawa, Kingston was the nation's capital for two years between 1841 and 1843; it was ultimately moved away because of Kingston's proximity to the United States.
