Description
Near life-sized printed panels showing a male figure sewn to two panels hinged at the centre; X-shaped support attached to outside of lower panel so that the whole can stand upright and open; support panels backed with wood; panels open like the pages of a book to reveal inner organs, structure of the body; interior pelvic flaps open to reveal male and female organs, including, for the female organs, a fetus in utero; on either side of the head are enlarged flap panels for the ear (left) and eye (right); at base of lower panel are enlarged flap panels of the foot--side view and overview; flaps are held in place by swivelling metal strips.

Condition Remarks
Background is stained through water damage; flap panels in lower pelvic area have been stored turned back, so paper layer has cracked; interior pelvic flaps sag down because stitching is breaking; toe section of foot flap panel is missing; metal retaining strip is missing from ear flap; damage extreme and severe.
