Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; in 1887, Dr. W.H. Stowe opened a dental laboratory in Boston after he was noted for his prosthetic skills and began to take on other dentists' work; he was later joined by his cousin, Frank F. Eddy; the Stowe & Eddy Company is considered the first successful American dental laboratory that was separate from a private practice
