Description
White painted openwork style wicker infants bassinette with wood slat board base with hand written names of all the x31 babies that used this bassinette for several generations of the Barber and Brunke family including other families for their newborns; manufacturer's stamp embossed on bottom board; designed with openwork curved hood; marks for original leg support shown on base; thirty-one names on the base dating from 1931 until 2012.

Provenance
Belonged to donor's family (Barber & Brunke) and her parents used it for her and her brother in the 1930s. Her father constructed the rolling base to allow her mother to move it easily around the house. The Barbers and the Brunkes’ have lived in Kingston for a few generations.

Olive Cass graduated from and worked at the Kingston General Hospital and Brockville General Hospital before marrying Frederick M. Cass in 1948, who would later be a member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament. Pin obtained at the Kingston General Hospital Centennial Celebrations.
