Description
Hemacytometer consists of a clear glass vial (a) with a flat bottom and a ground-glass stopper (b); there is a metal clamp (c) with a screw to tighten grip; a glass tube (d) with a black plastic support (so it can stand alone) with narrow bore and stylet, marked from 10 to 100 in units of 1; white strip behind scale for reading; black wooden tube (e) with a rounded end; pipette (f) with wire stylet, narrow bore and reservoir; all contained by (g) a wooden case covered in black buckram (?); has two hinges and a locking device; purple velvet compartments in base; purple satin-lined lid.

Checks in wood in various places; evidence of insect holes; tail broken from body of tiger at base; ends of three fingers and thumb missing from right hand of man; paint, ground, and small wood losses present throughout; surface dirt and grime on top of paint and gilding; recommend storing under mylar dust cover; wear white cotton gloves to handle.
