Description
Autotransformer which consists of a square metal base built up of flat pieces of steel laminated
together and held up by large screws; in the middle of the frame is a cloth strip-covered roll
(of copper?); the cloth is coated with black paint; coming out from the central roll are 20
high current leads -- cloth-covered wires; some of these have heavy paper tags which read
5, 250, 65, 210 (attached) and 140, 10, 30, and 165 (unattached)

Condition Remarks
Autotransformer was very dirty and dusty; there is some minor corrosion of the steel; some
of the cloth stripping has been torn; the cloth on some of the wires has holes; one wire has
come off and one is missing; four of the paper tags have come off
