Research Facts
Information provided by manufacturer: "This device is simply inserted under the skin and is designed to diagnose syncope without using electrical leads. The monitor features a continuous looping memory that can record up to 42 minutes of the heart's electrical activity before and following a fainting episode. This information helps physicians determine the cause of the syncope. The Reveal was developed in Canada by Dr. George Klein at the London Health Sciences Centre and our engineers at Medtronics of Canada, and is now exported around the world."
