The black and red printing on the front of the notice reads, "CANADA POSTAGE PAID // 3c. // Permit No. 129 KINGSTON // "OCCUPANT" // 63 Traymoor N Pt 81 38 x 92 354 Z P-167 L 905 B 3300 V242 // IMPORTANT [underlined] // HANG THIS CARD IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE IN YOUR HOME."; the reverse reads: "E.M.O. // CITY OF KINGSTON - COUNTY OF FRONTENAC // PUBLIC FALLOUT SHELTER // In the event of nuclear attack the public fallout shelter for this residence is located at: QUEENS UNIVERSITY ADELAIDE HALL // All residents without an approved private shelter should go there as soon as warning of fallout in this area is received over the radio. // EMERGENCY SUPPLIES // Residents should take with them: 1. All available food in the home. 2. A supply of fresh water. 3. A portable battery radio. 4. A supply of blankets. 5. A supply of fresh clothing. 6. A supply of special medicines if needed (insulin, etc.) 7. Such other essential [underlined] items as may be required. // SHELTER PERIOD // Your emergency government, through the RADEF system, will keep a close watch on the rate of decay of fallout in this area. // YOUR RADIO WILL TELL YOU WHEN IT IS SAFE TO LEAVE [entire sentence underlined]."

Condition Remarks
The notice had yellowed heavily; there were water stains along the proper left side and top corner; there was a tear in the paper, in the middle of the top edge, 2.3 cm long, and another below and to the right of this, 2.0 cm long; there were seven more creases along this top edge, and the bottom proper right corner was creased; there were three blue smudges in the lower right quadrant of the reverse side.
