Description
Tycos sphygmomanometer, which consists of a cloth-covered rubber bag; the rubber bag is rectangular
in shape and is covered with cloth that extends on both sides in wide strips, allowing it to be
wrapped around a patient's arm; there are two rubber hoses coming out from the top of the rubber
bag; one has a rubber and metal bulb at the end and the other has a round metal pressure dial with
a glass front and a metal clip on the back; measurements are for unfolded dimensions

N.Y."; the bulb is stamped, "Baumanometer"; the metal piece attaching the bulb to its hose is
stamped, "W.A. BAUM CO INC // COPIAGUE, NY."

Condition Remarks
#1: The cloth has some minor staining and wear, but is complete; the rubber is starting to deteriorate
and become brittle; the tubes are cracked and will not hold air; the bulb is still flexible; the
glass and metal parts are complete; there is a small amount of green residue on the back of the
pressure dial (corrosion product?); #2: the sphygmomanometer was determined to be stable enough for
exhibit; #3: no additional damage; #3: rubber stiff and cracked; fabric dirty
