Dr. Donald Maciver (1920 - ) was born and educated in Scotland graduated as a medical doctor in 1942. Upon graduation he joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. His medical practice was with the British, Scottish and Canadian Navy. Joining the Canadian Navy he moved to Halifax in 1953, rising to the position of Chief of Surgery, then Chief Surgeon at the National Defence Medical Centre in Ottawa and Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa. Retiring from the military as a General Surgeon in 1986, he moved and set up a practice in Cyprus, then moving back to Canada and settling in Kingston, Ontario in 1999.
