The regular holder was moderately dusty; a yellow deposit had accumulated within the threads of the securing bolts; the holder shows signs of moderate wear, particularly in the form of scratches on the flat surfaces of both 90° grooves; there are no major dents, and only minor inactive corrosion in one of the grooves; both bolts move freely

Alcohol lamp, which consists of a lamp (a) and a cap (b); the lamp is cylindrical in shape, with a flat bottom, with an extending shallow rim, straight sides with a folded piece of metal, a convex top, with a cylindrical piece extending from its centre; the midpoint of this piece is threaded, and there is a purple end of frayed rope extending from a round hole at the top of this piece; cap (b) screws on over top of this cylindrical piece with the rope; the cap is cylindrical with a round, open bottom, straight sides and a flat top; its inner surface is threaded; there is a groove, and gripping lines stamped into the metal, at its tip.

The cap and lamp showed minor signs of wear in the form of plate wear and fingerprint marks; there was a dark purple deposit along the bottom rim of the lamp, and in the groove at the top of the cap; no signs of active corrosion; there was a minor dent in the lamp, along the rim of its concave top.

Alcohol lamp, which consists of a lamp (a), cap (b), rod (c), spoon (d) and screw (e); the lamp is cylindrical with a flat, shallow-rimmed bottom, straight sides, and a slightly conical top; there is a folded piece of metal attached to its side that forms a vertical tube; a cylindrical piece, with gripping lines and metal threads on its surface, extends upwards from the centre of the conical top; a purple, frayed rope extends from an open hole at its top; the cap (b) fits over this component; the cap is cylindrical, with a round, open bottom, straight sides, and a flat top with gripping lines and a groove stamped around its rim; the base of the rod (c) fits into the tube formed by the folded piece of metal on the side of the lamp; it is a round rod, that is bent twice at 90° angles; its tips are rounded; when assembled, this rod suspends the spoon (d) over the lamp's wick; one end of the spoon is cylindrical, with a round hole running through it to accomodate the rod, and another at its tip for the screw; this tapers and flattens to form the spoon's arm; this flares at its end to form an oval, wide-tipped spoon; the spoon is secured to the rod with the screw, which is inserted into the hole at the end of the spoon; the screw (e) is round, with a threaded, cylindrical bottom, and round, flat turning grip, with gripping lines stamped into its edge.

There was a white residue on the bottom surface of the lamp (a); its metal plating was moderately scratched and worn, and there was a dent 1.5 cm x 1.0 cm on its side; the top cylindrical component had minor inactive corrosion and dark deposits; the plating on the cap was also worn, and the gold metal underneath was visible; there was a spot of inactive corrosion on its top, 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm; the rod was in very good condition; there were six small gouges on the top arm of the spoon, and eleven smaller gouges on its underside; there were water marks on the top surface of the spoon, and dark discolourations and deposits from the lamp on its bottom surface; the screw had some minor plate wear along its gripping surface.
