Glass box, which consists of a box (a) and a lid (b); the box is a rectangular, thick, steep, straight-walled box with a flat bottom and a straight, frosted glass flange surrounding its top rectangular opening; the lid (b) fits over this opening; the lid is rectangular, with a strip of frosted glass running along the outside edge of its bottom surface; its top surface is raised slightly with a glass ball handle extending from the centre of its top surface; on one long side of the box, characters are written in magic marker, and a maker's mark appears at the top of one short side.

b - box lid - Size: Length 25.0 cm x Width 13.0 cm x Depth 4.5 cm
On one long side of the box, "C: M: W: N H ["H" superscr.] P H ["H" superscr.] // .08: 72: 135: 3" is written in faded magic marker (now brown); at the top of one short side, "DESAGA // HEIDELBERG // MADE IN GERMANY" appears within a rectangular outline, all in raised glass.
Storage Room 0007
The box and lid were dirty; there were no significant cracks or breaks; there was a yellow deposit on the underside of the flange on one longer side of the box (possibly adhesive).
