Research Facts
Charles H. Phillips was an English born chemist and pharmacist best known for the production of Milk of Magnesia, which he first patented in 1875. His sons incorporated the Charles H. Phillips Chemical Company in 1885. The company was acquired by Sterling Products Corporation in 1923, who continued to sell Milk of Magnesia under the Charles H. Phillips Chemical Company name.
Milk of Magnesia is taken orally to relieve constipation, acid reflux, and indigestion.
