Varnished wooden dental chair (a) with square seat and seat back; front of armrests carved into elaborate lions; lower part of chair has decorative circular elements and simplified claw feet; metal lever bolted between the upper and lower part of the chair, allowing it to recline; headrest attached to chair via piece of metal and is adjustable by height; stuffed tapestry-covered seat, seat back, arm rests and headrest feature multi-coloured flowers; fabric bolted with yellow metal studs along border; varnished curved wooden footrest (b) with three different stuffed tapestry-covered levels, bolted in place with yellow metal studs

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this chair is most likely from the late 19th century, due to it being four-legged; the Ritter Dental Mfg. Co. introduced the first chair with a round, metal base in 1888
