Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was donated by J. Diane Snow from Vancouver, British Columbia and was originally owned by her father Dr. Cecil Montague Snow; who was an itinerant dentist from 1929-1942 in rural Saskatchewan, after which he settled in Calgary, Alberta; he graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland in 1916.

Cover slightly faded with minor scratch and fold marks; paper yellowed but still flexible; last coloured page is torn from the staples as it is glued to the back cover; first page has a small rip near the bottom of the page; there are also many ink smudges throughout the book

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was owned by R.C. Woodley, originally from Belleville, Ontario; he is listed in the directory as a freshman living at 131 Brunswick Avenue in Toronto; the Royal College of Dental Surgeons was founded in 1868 with the first dental act adopted anywhere in the world; a dental school was opened in 1875, with degrees (D.D.S.) granted from the University of Toronto beginning in 1888; in 1925 the school fully joined the university as the Faculty of Dentistry, currently the largest dental school in Canada
