Semi-transparent octagonal based brown glass “Bynin” Amara bottle (a) with non-removable cylindrical tan cork closure, light green with black text rectangular cardboard box (b) and rectangular tan paper promotional leaflet (c); bottle has flat rectangular front and back walls with top arch; back wall recessed; flat rectangular side walls recessed with company name embossed; round shoulders taper to short cylindrical neck and cylindrical unthreaded finish; octagonal push-up and circular mold mark on bottom; mold lines on sides from bottom to top and around neck; bottle is almost full of solid mass creating a heavy bottle; bottle has gold white, and black rectangular label with product information and dosages on front; box has product information on front, testimonials on right and left sides, and information for other products on back; promotional leaflet is one sheet folded into six sections with information for other products on both sides in black ink.

“Bynin” Amara was marketed as an effective tonic capable of treating many different ailments; the label claims that it strengthens heart rate and circulation, relieves anemia and cachexia, imporves appetite, and treats nervous troubles; the formula contains strychnine and the required designation of “Poison” is printed on the label.
