Softcover Canadian nursing journal with a white and green cover with black writing, consisting of 13 articles dedicated to explaining what is happening in the field of nursing in Canada; two staples as closure; the journal also has a summary / introduction on the first page and number of medical advertisement, such as pharmaceuticals advertisements, throughout with the last page an advertisement for a nursing uniform; on the cover is noted the publisher, date of publication, and symbol for the Canadian Nurses' Association, which features a white lamp inside a green maple leaf and the date 1908 below it in black writing; on the back cover is a list of books pertaining to various sciences and nursing; the donor wrote the article "Professional Appearance" on page 466; journal page numbers start at 409 and end at 504.

A white porcelain candleholder with small wax candle was given to each nursing student at the "nurses lamp lighting ceremony", which was held at the completion of the six-month probationary period. The lamp design was modeled after lamps used by Florence Nightingale. Nursing School added their school name / logo on the lamp as a commemoration of the occasion. Each nursing school had a variant of the basic ceremony held at specified times in the training of a nurse.
