NATO stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization; it is a political and military alliance of which Canada was an original member; it was formed in 1949 in response to the growing political and military threat of the Soviet Union following the Second World War.

Recording Resusci Anne teaching model in a case, which consists of (a) a rectangular blue plastic and metal suitcase that has a lid hinged onto the bottom with a single hinge at the bottom that runs the entire length of the suitcase; there are two metal clasps with locks on the top of the suitcase either side of a central plastic handle; stored folded inside the suitcase is (b) a Recording Resusci Anne teaching model; this model consists of a model of a woman with plastic hands and wrists, head, torso, ankles and feet; her arms and legs are made of foam; the woman is dressed in a blue-and-red track suit; there is a recorder built into the torso of the model which gives a paper readout (c) of how well the model has been "resuscitated"; there is an attached plastic control box
that has four lights and two knobs; the control box is attached by a cord to the right side of the model.

Condition Remarks
The suitcase and model arrived dusty and dirty; the plastic of the model is dirty in several areas, but is complete and undamaged; the cloth track suit is torn at the left side and the front of the pants; #3: thermal paper is covered in black marks and edges are creased from improper storage with the case contents.

Recording Resusci Anne teaching model in a case, which consists of (a) a rectangular heavy cardboard and wood suitcase that has a lid hinged onto the bottom with three hinges at the back; the top and bottom of the suitcase are reinforced with flat strips of wood and all corners with heavy plastic pieces; there are clasps with locks at the front left and right (with a key) and a plastic handle in the centre; the inside of the suitcase has a piece of leather (now broken) at the left side, which supported the lid when opened; there is a rectangular piece of foam attached to the inside of the lid near the right side; stored folded inside the suitcase is (b) a Recording Resusci Anne teaching model; this model consists of a model of a woman with a plastic head, torso, ankles and feet; the legs are made of foam and the arms are missing; the woman is wearing blue-and-red track pants and red top; there is a recorder built into the torso of the model which gives a paper readout of how well the model has been "resuscitated"; there is an electric cord leading from right side of the model which would have attached to a control box (now missing).

The suitcase is very worn; the heavy cardboard sides have many scratches and scuff marks; the leather strap on the inside is broken; the heavy paper covering inside the suitcase is torn in several spots; the model is missing its arms and control box as well as the track top that would have originally come with it; the plastic is stained in several areas
