Research Facts
It is injected, though it can also be administered in the conjunctiva of the eye. Used to treat severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, to maintain breathing. It is a bronchodilator (enlarges the bronchioles to let in more oxygen) and a vasoconstrictor (constricts blood vessels so that blood pressure increases/improve oxygen circulation). It lowers intraocular pressure in the eye by decreasing production of eye fluid (aqueous humour).
