The regular holder was moderately dusty; a yellow deposit had accumulated within the threads of the securing bolts; the holder shows signs of moderate wear, particularly in the form of scratches on the flat surfaces of both 90° grooves; there are no major dents, and only minor inactive corrosion in one of the grooves; both bolts move freely

(a) Cylindrical hand pump with long spout near the base of the main section of the dispenser, containing the beginning of the chamber that measures the volume of liquid to be dispensed and the spout by which the liquid is dispensed; the next section of the dispenser contains the chamber that holds the drawn-up (by vacuum) measured amount of liquid to be dispensed; on the side of this section is a knob with an arrow attached that can be loosened and slid up and down a millilitre incremented scale, then tightened at the required volume to be dispensed; (b) base of dispenser is a detachable connector that screws onto a bottle and into the main section of the dispenser.

The burette clamp (a) consists of a flat metal bar with a two-pronged clamp at each end; the clamp is made from black painted metal; there is a round, threaded hole bisecting the bar to accomodate bolt (b); a short, metal cylinder surrounds the opening of this hole on the top side of the clamp; two fenestrated five-sided arms extend downwards on either side of the midpoint of the bar; the clamps at either end consist of a narrow clamping rod, working against a heavy spring; a curved arm extends on either side of the clamping rod to secure the burette in place; there is a rubber band encircling the working end of both clamping rods; bolt (b) consists of a round, threaded metal rod, with a flat end, and a flat, circular turning grip at the top.

The burette clamp arrived very dusty; inactive corrosion covered approximately 50% of the proper right clamp, on both the top and bottom surfaces; a white deposit, 4.5 cm x 2.9 cm, covered the central portion of the bottom surface, surrounding the bolt; both rubber bands are cracking and deteriorating; both clamps move freely, and the bolt shows no signs of corrosion; there are several scratches on most components, showing signs of wear.

The clamp arrived dusty and dirty; the rubberized coating on the clamp prong tips is deteriorating; it is splitting on the edges of the clamp and shows brownish discolouration; patches of bluish-green corrosion have developed on the prongs near the tips, particularly on the prong numbered "1543-2"; the largest patch is 0.4 cm x 0.6 cm; the clamp shows signs of wear in the form of abrasions; parts move freely.

The pipettor consists of a hollow, metal cylinder with a flat, semi-circular finger grip and plunger at one end, and a very thin metal rod, exiting from a conical tip, at the other; the plunger consists of a metal rod with a circular, flat plastic disk at one end; a round paper label is affixed to the flat side of the finger grip facing the plunger end; there is a blue and white rectangular label affixed to the side of the main cylinder; the cylinder is tipped with a conical component that has a small hole at its tip; gripping lines are stamped into the metal on the sides of the cone; metal threads run along the inner surface of the cone, and at the top of the cylinder so the components can be attached; a thin metal rod, with a solid, flat tip, exits through the hole at the tip of the conical component; when the plunger is depressed, this rod extends.

The pipettor shows signs of minor wear; there are no major scratches, dents or corrosion; there was a white deposit, possibly adhesive, next to the label on the flat side of the finger grip nearest the plunger; all parts move freely.
