"Oleum Bergamottae: Bergamot oil; greenish of brownish-yellow oil; characteristic fragrant odour; bitter, aromatic taste; obtained from expression from the fresh peel of the fruit of citrus bergamia; employed in perfumery, especially in preparations for the hair."
Bergamot oil is used in aromatherapy for a variety of ailments, including anxiety, nausea and vomiting, and pain; it is also used to reduce some side effects of certain prescription drugs including antipsychotics used to treat schizophrenia
