White catalogue from 1876, the same item is also found in their 1916 catalogue, complete with ebony handle, and it is described as being a "very old form"; two all-metal versions also existed at this time; this item would be used for the removal of hollow anterior roots that would be crushed by forceps; it is used by screwing the point slightly into the root and applying traction
