Description
Dental syringe for infiltration anaesthetic with 9 interchangeable needle tips comes in a rectangular dark brown wooden box (a) with a maroon, leather, decorative border and embossed gold lettering on top; box has rounded edges and opens via two metal hinges on the back; bottom of box is covered with a maroon fabric; inside, the top is padded and covered with yellow leather and the bottom is lined with orange paper; there is a small white oval sticker with a red border stuck to the bottom of the box handwritten on in blue ink; silver metal syringe has two parts; plunger (b) has a flat circular thumb rest and the numbers 1-25 stamped into the side; plunger screws into the top of a cylindrical barrell (c) via a round nut which is attached to (b); barrell has a finger rest on either side at the top; there is an attached rubber ring around the bottom and a tapered threaded end for attaching the needles (d-l); (d-k) all have a hollow round threaded inner part and hexagonal outer edges at the base which tapers to a small hollow cylindrical needle at the tip; (l) has a a hollow round threaded inner part and a rounded outer edge; (d-i) all have short straight needles attached to necks with varying angles; (j) has a straight neck and a long straight needle; (k) has a straight neck with a short straight needle; (l) has an angled neck and no needle; when inside the box, syringe sits on a carved yellow wooden syringe rest (m), covered in dark yellow leather; there are two depressions carved into the block, an oblong one for (c) and one which is torpedo shaped; thin silver metal wire (n) is also included in the set

(a) exhibits signs of use, the front closing mechanism is missing, there are scratches all over and the leather has worn off of two of the top corners; (b) also shows signs of use, there are wear marks on the underside of the finger rests and a piece of the rubber around the tip has broken off; (m) has detached from the inside of (a); (k) has a broken tip

drawing of item in use & lithograph of child sleeping & vaporizer on; ornate cast-iron
stand is painted gold with attached metal receptacle on top to hold basin of medicine;
kerosene fuel recommended; spare wicks and new wick inserted in lamp; box is in poor condition;
previously inside was completely covered in masking tape to hold loose pieces on.

includes box with complete directions on use of this vaporizer; box repaired with masking
