Educational chart on cloth-backed colour printed paper, with wooden rods holding it at the top and bottom; the chart depicts 11 views of the human eye or ear -- each given the following figure letters: (A) eye, seen from the front; (B) muscles of the eye, seen from the side; (C) median sagittal section through the eyeball; (D) eyeball partially dissected to show its layers; (E) interior of the posterior half of the eye as seen through the ophthalmoscope; (F) anterior part of the eye, seen from behind; (G) diagrammatic horizontal section through the head at the level of the optic chiasma, showing relations of the optic nerve to retina and visual fields and pathways; right blue; left - red; (H) frontal section of the right external and middle ear; (I) greatly-enlarged section through cochlea; (K) passage of sound waves through the external ear (green), middle ear (red), internal ear (blue); and (L) auditory ossicles and labyrinth in natural size; individual parts within these figures are numbered, and there is a list of printed identifications at the bottom of the chart; the wooden rods at the top and bottom of the chart are cylindrical and have been cut lengthwise in half to allow the poster ends to go in the middle, then are joined with metal staples; the top rod has a metal ring and a cloth ribbon attached at the centre to allow the poster to be hung or to tie it closed if rolled.

Condition Remarks
The poster was somewhat dusty when it arrived; the cloth backing shows staining and cracking; the front of the poster shows a few minor areas of paper loss and some small tears, especially at the edges; all printing is fully legible; there are water damage stains on the top section of the poster and small grayish-black stains from inactive mould.
