A drug preparation scale consisting of a rectangular wooden base with the metal scale components attached (a); the scale has a detachable metal bowl (b) which sits in a hand-like area of the scale; this is attached to a beam with a weight on it and a loop at the other end, the weight is used to level the beam and determine the weight of the object in the bowl.

Found in a cabinet in the donors' basement after they bought the house from John Briscoe of Briscoe's pharmacy which was located at 229 Princess Street in Kingston from 1954 to 1966; it is likely that Briscoe acquired the collection during his career as a pharmacists.
