A 22 x 3 1/2 monoject spinal needle in a sealed blue plastic cylindrical tube (a) with a clear cover (b); the tube is not sealed and inside there is the needle which is made up of two parts, one is a thin, hollow, metal tube (c) which is sharp at one and and tapers into a piece that will fit a luer-lok syringe on the other; inside this is a smaller needle which runs though the larger tube (d); there is a small plastic ring that goes around the needle and holds it in place in the plastic tube (e).
